Wednesday 14th October
A very busy day, two NHS briefings, the first dealing with the third party service review. It would appear that we score well in many spheres but there are areas where improvement is indicated, this was an opportunity to relay constituents comments and concerns. This was followed by the Minister of Health’s and Social Cares launch of the Health and Social Care in the  Isle of Man – the next five years. This is a lengthy document and can be viewed on the link. https://www.gov.im/media/1349186/health-and-social-care-in-the-isle-of-man-the-next-five-years-gdno20150052.pdf
There have been many changes within the management structure of late and as always these take a while to feed through, but I got the feeling that a number of the issues raised during the recent by-election campaign are on the agenda and I hope that by the time of the general election some of these will have fed through. No doubt in due course there will be feedback.
Health Care
This was followed by a meeting with the Treasury Minister and a briefing on our financial situation. Work in progress but some encouraging information.
Finally a lunch briefing by the Minister for Economic Development on the Enterprise Development Scheme which comes before Tynwald on 20th of this month.
